Description:
UNFPA, the United Nations Population Fund, aims to support the Angolan government in providing Menstrual Health Management (MHM) services. This ITB# UNFPA/AGO/ITB/25/001 is to purchase 175 sewing machines, for the creation of 10 sewing rooms in five provinces: Luanda, Malanje, Bie, Namibe, and Cunene. These small businesses will produce and introduce reusable sanitary pads and conduct behaviour change interventions with girls. This component will train at least 300 girls in the manufacture of reusable pads and targets to cover 50,000 adolescents out-of-school, who will develop skills related to menstrual health, the prevention of adolescent pregnancy and gender-based violence, and comprehensive sexuality education. Additionally, it will include community mobilisation efforts to address social and gender norms that limit the realisation of sexual and reproductive rights for girls and young women.The supplier will be responsible for providing the machines, transporting them to their final destinations, installing them, and providing training on the use of the machines.
